Bulfinch family correspondence, mostly among architect Charles, Hannah A., author Thomas, poet and Unitarian minister Stephen G., and Caroline (Phelps) Bulfinch. Also, some letters of George S., John A., Francis V., and Charles Bulfinch Jr., with occasional letters of Susan B.C. Lyman and George Storer, among other relatives. There are 2 letters (1800) by Sullivan Dorr aboard the snow Pacific Trader on a fur gathering expedition. Also, poetry, college essays, sermons, and diaries of S.G. Bulfinch; penmanship copy-book (1778) of Sukey Bulfinch; Moses and Elizabeth Porter correspondence (1754-55) regarding the Crown Point Expedition during the French and Indian War; and genealogical notes on the Apthorp, Bulfinch, Colman, Coolidge, Greenleaf, and Storer families. Subjects in correspondence include architecture and Unitarianism. (Cont.) The diary (1856-65) of S.G. Bulfinch contains a record of church members, baptisms, marriages, and funerals (1852-63) in the Harrison Square Church of Dorchester, Mass., where Bulfinch was minister.
